Our Purpose

We adopt an MMIWGT2S+ relations-led inclusive kinship approach to the creation and hosting of art-based healing gatherings on the land in three different regions – Ontario, Quebec, and Western. The regional gatherings will create a network of decolonial MMIWGT2S+ supports and will form the basis of a National Campaign centered on decolonial, trauma-informed healing and transformative justice by and for MMIWGT2S+ families.

Creating safe spaces and transformative relations

MMIWGT2S+
Decolonial Relations

The objectives include building land- and art-based healing gatherings by and for a MMIWGT2S+ national family-led campaign aimed at MMIWGT2S+ prevention and the promotion of gender equality for Indigenous women, girls, trans and two spirit persons by linking the regional projects with partner First Nations in Ontario, Quebec and the Western Region. The regional gatherings will create a network of supports in each of the three regions through trauma-informed and art-based healing practices. Community-regional art exhibits from all three gatherings will form the basis of the national campaign.

Safer Spaces

We provide safer spaces for MMIWGT2S+ relations to access diverse healing practices and opportunities to restore memories of their loved one(s).

Transformative relations

We will develop a national MMIWGT2S+ kinship-led campaign centered on decolonial relations, multi-generational and complex trauma-informed healing, and transformative justice by and for MMIWGT2S+ relations.
